one thing i think would be so cool is to take a bunch of rookie stg players, put them in a room with a totally sight-unseen newly developed score attack STG with no instruction, with maybe a small prize for the sake of focus. i’d love to see the sliding scale of survival-vs-scoring and competition-vs-cooperation in an environment like that, see people make breakthroughs and figure a game out together without someone just getting their phone and a wiki article
